If you’re so impatient, you should just dive straight into comics! You’ll learn a lot from doing it, I promise. And even if your art isn’t where you want it to be, by the time it is you’ll be good at drawing comics, not just drawing the characters. I know of a ton of artists who’s art I envy but their comics I don’t. And there’s a ton of people who aren’t necessarily ‘good’ artists but their comics are incredible. They’re two different skill sets. But why not develop both of those skills at the same time?
As far as developing your own style goes, that’s just something that sort of happens? I dunno, its not like I actively try to push my style in a certain direction or anything. Its just kind of an indirect interpretation of everything I like. And it’ll change when my preferences change. Asking how long it took to develop an art style is kind of like asking how long did it take me to decide I like stuff. Its just something that happens after looking at a lot of stuff.
